Who We Are
Founder
Joseph S. Vig founded J. S. Vig Construction Company in Taylor in 1965 after serving four years in the service and working for ten years in the construction industry. While working and raising a family of five, Mr. Vig attended night school and obtained a degree in Civil Engineering.
His strong moral background and engineering degree helped carve out the foundation for J. S. Vig Construction. His corporate mission was to provide responsive professional service to customers while creating a productive, safe and enjoyable work place for employees and subcontractors. Mr. Vig's personal goals were to earn and maintain the respect of his family and friends, to contribute to the community, and to maintain an honest and fair working relationship with his clients.
This philosophy has enabled J. S. Vig to effectively complete more than 1400 projects in 38 years. These values have helped the company successfully complete diversified projects such as hospitals, libraries, office buildings, churches, industrial facilities, laboratories, telecommunication and many municipal facilities. Our firm's client list has grown to include many Fortune 500 companies, including Johnson & Johnson, AT&T, MCI/Worldcom and several others.

Current J. S. Vig personnel have an average experience level of 20 years in the construction industry. The company believes in heavily investing in our personnel with technical resources to make both the field and office components the most efficient and effective they can be. We take each project and review the needs of our clients on an individual basis. This helps to ensure that every facet is addressed, and that our clients realize that each and every project is of the utmost importance to our team. We pride ourselves on the business relationships we have been able to maintain, our numerous repeat and satisfied clients, the professional level at which we operate, and the team approach that we use on all projects.
